Creative reflections through the liturgical structure

A printed version of this is available as part of our book, All That Is Made.

From books, to podcasts, to churches, to sermons, to everyday conversation—Christians are talking about liturgy. But what does it mean when we talk about liturgy in the context of a creative life with God? Derived from the Greek word, leitourgia, liturgy translates directly to “work of the people.” Liturgy is our public work of faith. Practically, this tends to look like ordered, structured prayers and statements of faith read together in the context of a community or church.

We use this liturgical structure to guide artists, entrepreneurs, and makers in spiritual reflection on the role of the creative in the flourishing of humanity. May this guide you in shaping a compelling public faith for your creative life and provide a framework for participating in the creative “work of the people.”

Love this!

I purchased a copy of this ebook a while back for myself. I bought this copy for a dear friend of mine. She found it encouraging and inspiring!

Good resource in an area where there are not a lot like this.

There are lots of thicker books about the intersection of faith and creativity, but not a lot of practices that are made to centre yourself in the midst of doing creative work.

Loved it

The connection of creativity and spirituality was so refreshing and resonated deeply with me. I would buy more if shipping and exchange to Canada wasn't so expensive, but look forward to collecting the books in pieces over time. This kind of resource is something I have been looking for and would love to participate in creating or writing in some way.

It was good overall. Visual elements are very attractive :) I hope there will be some creative meditation steps or imagination exercises included... to take readers deeper into using their own creativity when exploring the word.

Great E-Book

I ended up printing this out because it was fun to make notes and highlights on the paper. Enjoyed this read... could be a cool physical pamphlet/mini book in future! Looking forward to reading more from Alabaster!
